Burlöv is an exciting municipality in the growth region between Malmö and Lund. We have a close organizational culture that enables and emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a sustainable work life. Together we develop our operations and create value for our citizens.

Do you want to help build the attractive, accessible, sustainable, and safe Burlöv?

The Culture and Leisure Department is tasked with promoting a rich cultural, leisure, and association life. We work based on a common strategy focusing on creating accessibility and inclusion, participation and co-creation, as well as breadth and depth. Through personal experiences and meeting places, we build an attractive and sustainable municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a youth coach within Ung i Burlöv, you are employed as a field secretary and have independent responsibility for outreach and preventive work according to the method Fånga upp. You primarily work with youth and young adults aged 13-20 who are in or at risk of entering social risk zones. The assignment involves building long-term relationships and early identification of needs among youth who both have and lack contact with the municipality's services.

The assignment means that you work outreach and relationship-building in public environments, at youth centers, and in other contexts where youth gather. You meet youth in their arena, create trusting relationships, and work motivationally to strengthen their opportunities for meaningful leisure, education, or work.

In this role, you work with the networks surrounding the youth through collaboration with the youth center, safety hosts, schools, social services, police, etc.

You map the life situation, needs, and challenges of youth and work with both general and targeted preventive measures. The work may involve directing youth to leisure activities, studies, work, or support measures, creating employment and structure, and working on social skills and motivation.

Part of the position involves working in youth center activities, which currently includes a fixed evening each week and participation in youth leader meetings.

The work also involves administrative tasks such as documentation, planning, follow-up, and reporting, as well as regular check-ins with the manager and/or supervisor at the youth center. Evening and weekend work is included. You will be based at the Magneten youth center in Arlöv.

To succeed in this role, you need to have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to create and maintain good relationships with both youth and partners. You are solution-oriented and work in a creative, flexible, and initiative-taking manner based on the youth's needs.

You are secure and stable in your professional role, which allows you to adapt to changing situations and quickly adjust as needed. The work requires you to be self-driven but also to see colleagues and collaboration as a strength.

As the target group and their living conditions change rapidly, it is important that you have an interest in monitoring the environment and keep updated on trends, risk behaviors, and the daily lives of youth. You have a professional approach, are a clear adult role model, and work long-term and preventively.
